Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.
We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.
We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.
Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.
Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.
Background Info:
Revlon was picked up on the streets and brought to the city shelter where surprisingly no one came to claim her. The staff at the city shelter fell madly in love with her and asked if we could make room for her and we of course couldn't resist that face!

Physical Description:
This exquisite lady has an almost picture perfect build of an American Pit Bull Terrier! Short but muscled legs with a longer body and that true to confirmation lean forward neck and head. Rev is an athletic build that is compact but well muscled and very athletic. Her wide but almost pointy head with those stunning light yellow/hazel eyes just draw you in to fall in love!
Current Living Situation:
Revlon is in a foster home where she is rotated with the other female and male dogs. She has shown to be very well behaved when it is not her free time in the house and waits patiently and quietly in the foster moms bedroom. She has shown to be respectful of the medium sized yards wooden picket fence even with the barking neighbor dogs behind the yard. Rev is very excited to see the older teenage human brother when he comes home from work and gets all her pets.
Personality:
This gal is a Hoot! She loves to be right by your side always but she Really loves to get her goofiness on with zoomies and play bows mixed with tippy tap toes of excitement that her human is paying her attention!! Her goal is to please and gets very sad when she thinks she has done something wrong that upset her human :( Rev has the true to breed temperament of wanting to make you happy and have fun doing it, she will make you laugh but also snuggle hard when you need it most.
Behavior with people:
Revlon is a people pleaser, ride or die, sleep within your soul she cuddles so hard kinda gal. She loves to greet everyone with a run up to you super fast then sit and tap her toes in excitement. We do think she would do best in a home without super high foot traffic. She loves her people so much she wants to make sure she gets enough of your time.
Behavior with children:
Revlon has shown to do well with older children. She would do best in a home with kids who have been raised with good breed knowledge and can handle how close she wants to be too them. When Rev gets revved up for her lightning fast zoomies she could knock down little kids so older ones are best for this little torpedo lol
Behavior with other dogs:
We believe Rev could live with a compatible male in a home with good breed understanding and monitoring of triggers with super slow proper introductions.
Behavior with other animals:
Revlon has shown that she might be able to live with cats after super slow introductions and proper management of pets.
Training:
She's a Rockstar! Well, she is a Rockstar with Sit and Down! We are still working on wait, but she stares at you so hard that she basically has Look down pat lol! She would benefit from a home that would continue her training to work that active brain of hers.
Best Attribute:
She wants to be your soul dog and will do everything to be there for you. If you are looking for the ultimate best friend that will adore every move you make... get to know Ms Revlon :)
