Before applying for a dog, please take a moment to review our Adoption Information & Procedures

Some of the dogs in our program are adopted before we get to know them. Some stay longer but require several weeks to show their character. Some dogs receive additional evaluations and training by professionals if needed.

We work hard to provide as much information as possible, but the process is not perfect. Our goal is to give the dogs the best chance to stay in their home for the rest of their lives so we are genuine regarding what we know about them. For MPR, quality of our placements takes precedence over a quick turnaround.

We do our very best to update the dogs' bios as quickly as we can. In some cases, dogs are adopted before we are able to revise their listing.

Please do not contact MPR via email or messenger to inquire about a dog’s personality and/or temperament, compatibility with other pets, etc. The volunteers in charge of replying to general requests are not the same as those handling and evaluating the dogs. They will not be able to answer your questions.

Missouri Pit Bull Rescue makes no express or implied warranty, representation or promise to the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, behaviors, obedience, or safety of the dogs in our program. Our assessments are subjective and based on information we receive when selecting the dogs for our program, as well as observations and reports from our volunteers and caretakers. Adopters understand that no one can predict how a dog will act or react under all circumstances and situations.

Background Info:

Giggles was a frequent flyer thru the city shelter. Eventually, sadly, her owner didn't come for her.  She was put into foster with small kids and did well until the kids weren't able to protect her from a loose dog. Giggles lost her foster home and the staff contacted us about this happy girl we couldn't say no to.

Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 65-70 lbs

Health Condition:

Giggles is in healthy condition and ready for adoption!

Physical Description:

Giggles has beautiful mix of white and brindle/brown fur that makes her stand out in the crowd. Her coat is a lovely combination of soft white and rich brindle stripes, creating a stunning, distinctive pattern. Giggles has a big, blocky head that adds to her sturdy and strong appearance, but it's her soulful, gentle eyes and beautiful smile that truly steal the show. Those eyes seem to hold a world of love and affection, always showing warmth and trust.

Current Living Situation:

Giggles is thriving in her foster home and is truly making herself comfortable! No longer needing to stay in a kennel when her foster parents are away or at night, she now enjoys the freedom of being inside with her foster family. Giggles is a well-behaved pup who is taken out on a long leash in the backyard to do her business, as the fence is still being set up.

She enjoys daily outings and walks, where she gets the chance to explore and stretch her legs. Giggles currently lives in a quiet home with no kids or other pets, which allows her to relax and focus on her relationship with her foster parents. She's loving, affectionate, and has a calm demeanor when she’s not out adventuring. Giggles is a true gem, ready to bring joy and companionship to her forever home!

Personality:

Giggles is the perfect mix of easy-going and loving. With a medium energy level, she enjoys her daily walks and outings but is just as content to curl up and cuddle with her foster parents after a fun adventure. While she has a medium prey drive, she’s generally laid-back and happy to relax indoors. Giggles is a sweet, affectionate dog who thrives on love and attention, always ready to snuggle up and share her warmth. She’s the ideal companion for anyone looking for a loyal, loving friend with a balanced temperament.

Behavior with people:

Giggles is a social butterfly who absolutely loves meeting new people! While she can get overly excited when meeting someone new, she quickly settles down and becomes the affectionate cuddle bug she is known for. Once she's comfortable, she craves attention and will happily snuggle up for as much love as you can give. Giggles is a sweet and eager-to-please pup, always excited to form new connections and share her warm, loving nature with everyone she meets.

Behavior with children:

We were told Giggles did well in her previous foster home with kids. With that knowledge we think she could go in a home with children and proper adult supervision.

Behavior with other dogs:

We believe it's possible that Giggles could live with a male dog of the same size or larger with very slow, proper introductions.

Behavior with other animals:

Giggles has a medium prey drive, especially when it comes to small animals. While she’s generally calm and easy-going, her instincts can kick in around smaller critters, so she may need some guidance and supervision in those situations. We do not recommend a home with small animals, such as cats, for Giggles.

Training:

Giggles is a smart and loving girl who has quickly adjusted to her foster home. After being kenneled for the first week, she made it clear that she prefers the freedom of roaming around rather than being confined. Since then, she’s been accident-free, seeming to be housebroken and knows how to keep things clean. Giggles is also a quick learner—she already knows how to sit, lay down, and look on command.

Best Attribute:

Giggles has the softest, puppy-like fur and a heart full of love for everyone she meets. Whether she's spending time with an athletic family or a more laid-back one, she’s happy as long as she’s with her people. Her favorite sport? Playing with a ball! She’s ready to chase, fetch, and have fun, so we hope her new family is in for some active playtime! With her loving nature and playful spirit, Giggles is sure to bring joy to any home.
