Django
The name Django is of Romani origin, meaning "I awake." The name has become more familiar with the release of the acclaimed Quentin Tarantino film, "Django Unchained".
Background Info:
This adorably cute guy was bailed out of the city shelter, and we have no info regarding Django's background and why he landed at the pound. We were surprised that a good-looking dog like him with such a fun-loving personality and good disposition wasn't claimed, but nobody came for him. We are glad to have him in the program now because he's full of promise.
Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull/AmStaff
Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 yo
Weight: 55-65 lbs
Health Condition:
Django is healthy and ready for adoption.
Physical Description:
Very good-looking little guy. Slightly smaller than average, but not by far. He's actually very well proportioned, muscular, and quite compact. With his blue fawn & tri-colored coat, he's a head turner for sure. And look at those adorable ears 🐰😍
Current Living Situation:
Django is being silly-happy at MPR shelter. Talk about a good sport. Being homeless is definitely not affecting his morale and he takes his situation like a champ. In fact, everything is a reason to have fun for this dog and has the happiest spirit.
.
Personality:
Django has such a positive temperament and good nature. His resilience facing hardships is inspiring. He lost his home, but not his good mood. He's a fun-loving goofball and always in a good mood. We love his sparkling energy.
While Django is playful and active, he's also gentle when taking treats and somewhat responsive. Sometimes he's a little too happy for his own good and might explode in excitement. He's a total riot.
We believe this very smart boy would thrive with active owners who want a dog excited to be in the middle of the fun with everyone.
Behavior with people:
Django loves people and is super friendly. He does not discriminate what's so ever. Everyone is a long-lost friend. No guard-dog here! He's the one who needs to be guarded as he is too good looking and too sociable for his own sake. He'll gladly follow anyone who pays him attention and wants to play, even folks with bad intentions.
Behavior with children:
Django can get a little carried away when he's too excited and becomes a little nippy. Due to his high energy, he needs training, leadership, and structure - a job for adults, not kiddos.
Behavior with other dogs:
Unknown. Django has not been introduced to other dogs since being with us. As of now, he's given us no reason to believe he could not share a home with a compatible female. He might be a little too high-strung for an older grumpy dog, but he might love a younger 4-legged sister.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown.
Training:
Django knows the basics. Someone has worked with him before. He needs a refresher but is eager to participate in training. Lots of potential and very smart!
